[UPDATE: Our Jacksonville AT&T Wireless partners are now back online.]
We’re reaching out to inform our local community and readers across the country about a significant service disruption impacting AT&T Wireless customers. This nationwide outage is affecting numerous major cities, including Jacksonville, Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
For those in need of making calls, WiFi calling remains operational and can be a reliable alternative during this time. Additionally, Apple iPhone users with recent models have the capability to send emergency SOS messages via a satellite feed. This feature could be life-saving in critical situations, though it’s important to note that it requires a clear line of sight to the sky and a strong outdoor GPS signal to function effectively.
We understand the inconvenience this may cause, especially in our fast-paced world where connectivity is crucial. At Eutis Staffing, Inc., our office phones are currently operational, but we anticipate potential disruptions in calls to and from AT&T customers or through AT&T towers.
We encourage anyone affected to explore alternative communication methods until the issue is resolved and to stay tuned for updates from AT&T regarding this outage. Your safety and connectivity are important to us, and we hope this information helps you navigate this temporary challenge.
Stay connected, stay informed. Eutis Staffing, Inc. does not use AT&T Wireless for standard business communication. However, many of our partners and contractors do use AT&T Wireless.
[As of our last check at 1:00 PM EST the outage is repaired at least partially]
Note on Public WiFi Use:
With the current AT&T wireless outage, many may turn to public WiFi networks as a primary means of staying connected. It’s important to keep in mind that these networks may become overwhelmed due to the sudden increase in users. This can lead to slower speeds or difficulty connecting.
To mitigate these issues, we recommend:
- Seeking out less crowded areas if you’re in public spaces with multiple WiFi options. Quieter locations may have less congested networks.
- Using personal hotspots if available, from devices not affected by the outage. This can provide a more stable connection for important tasks.
- Limiting high-bandwidth activities like streaming video or large downloads while on public WiFi, to help ease the strain on network resources and ensure more users can maintain a connection.
Remember, public WiFi networks are less secure, so consider using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to protect your data while connected.
By being mindful and considerate in our use of shared resources like public WiFi, we can help ensure that everyone stays connected during this outage.
